Already receiving rave reviews since February 2016, this arty hotel is located in the heart of Seminyak. A short stroll to nearby restaurants and boutique shops, supermarket and Seminyak Beach (or a short inexpensive cab ride).
Whilst there is no kids club or play areas, the fun furnishings and attractive swimming pool will keep them happy. An on-site restaurant dishes up fusion asian and western cuisine, there’s good cheap coffee and a sun deck by the pool with comfy lounges.

What we love about a Pullman property is that it knows families also enjoy accommodation with a touch of elegance and intimacy and it’s not just reserved for loved up couples. Making that so is their policy on free accommodation and breakfast for 1 child (the others have to pay).

Pros: Large family friendly resort with a wide variety of facilities including walking tours, large pool and kids indoor play space .
Cons: Tucked away from it all (which maybe a good thing) the remove location is a good 15 minute drive into central Ubud for its shops and restaurants. It’s large and lacks the real intimate feel. No kids club. Villas only accommodate one child.
Bottom line: Ideal for families wanting creature comforts of a resort without the heavy price tag of other luxurious resorts. The Lokha Ubud has everything a family needs.

Pros: Wonderful kids club, camel safari on resort, great pools, waterslides and family friendly rooms and suites which have been refurbished.
Cons: Hidden away in Nusa Dua with not allot to do outside the resort. The Resort is starting to show it’s age with signs of wear and tear. Large resort means lots of facilities but also lots of people.
Bottom line: Expansive resort with excellent family friendly facilities, perfect for a family that want a affordable Nusa Dua resort holiday.
Family friendly to a tee starting with the Jungle Camp kids club for kids aged 4 years to 12 years old with an excellent outdoor play area with trampoline, rock climbing wall, slides and tunnels. There’s also the series of swimming pools that weave through rocks and caves and has a 30 metre water slide. If this isn’t enough there are three tennis courts, an observation tower, a family of camels to ride (at a fee) and a beautiful stretch of private beach which means no touts or outside distractions.
Choose between a Garden View Room which sleeps 4, connecting rooms both garden and ocean view or pay a little extra for direct pool access rooms, take note that the pool is “semi-private” meaning other guests can access your part of the pool.

2. Bakung Ubud Resort and Villa
Pros: Great resort facilities and well equipped clean and spacious accommodation, authentic Ubud rice paddy vibes and a lovely swimming pool.
Cons: Less budget friendly and uneconomical for families of more than one child. Compromise of clean and comfort with location, it’s a distance from town with irregular shuttle service.
Bottom line: For families wanting resort style creature comforts and a slow paced Ubud escape.
Set amongst rice paddies the large budget resort features very spacious Balinese style standard and deluxe rooms as well as private one and two bedroom villas. Families on a budget have access to two swimming pools, free WIFI, restaurant, bar, room service and affordable laundry service. Light filled rooms are comfortable and clean, two bedroom villas have views of the swimming pool.
There is a shuttle bus that operates four times a day for the 15 minute journey into town, though complaints that this is not frequent enough and there is not much happening around the resort. There is also adult bikes to hire though problematic with kids. For a bit more flexibility a private driver can be arranged at an additional fee.
Price: Best for families of one child with one bedroom villa’s (max occupancy 3) from AUD $90. Two bedroom villa sleeps four from AUD $150 includes breakfast.
